Bexley Public Library is pleased to announce that on April 9, 2014, it will join the Central Library Consortium (CLC). While continuing to serve the community as an independent library, Bexley Public Library will partner with 13 other central Ohio libraries to offer patrons access to more than 3.8 million items. This transition will also include an update to the catalog, an improved check-out experience, an expanded collection of downloadable books and magazines as well as text message notifications, a mobile-friendly catalog for use with smartphones and tablets, and the ability to pay fines online.

Scotty’s Café is only open M-F for breakfast and lunch so this is a great time to have a wonderful meal and meet new Chamber members. Bexley Chamber Sponsors Breakfast with Columbus Dispatch Columnist Joe Blundo

BEXLEY, OH, September 19, 2013 – The Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a breakfast featuring Joe Blundo as the speaker, on Thursday, October 3rd from 8 – 9:30 a.m. at Embassy Suites Airport, 2886 Airport Drive.

Blundo is a popular Columbus Dispatch columnist. His column, “So To Speak,” began appearing in the lifestyle section of the Dispatch in May 1997. His columns are a mix of humor, human interest and information.

Blundo began his career at the Dispatch in 1978. He started as the night police reporter and has also worked as a suburban reporter, copy editor, assistant Metro editor, Accent editor and Home & Garden reporter.

In 2002, Blundo won the National Society of Newspaper Columnists contest for writing humor in large newspapers.

The event is open to the community. Cost is $10 for Chamber members and $15 for non-members.

At The Browtique, aesthetician Destiny Ward beautifies clients with a variety of cosmetic services as they relax with complimentary drinks and snacks. Though she specializes in eyebrow waxing, Destiny also waxes areas such as the ears, nose, bikini area, and legs. She tames faces with one-hour facials and enhances peepers with eyelash extensions. Destiny also uses her artistic expertise to decorate faces with professional makeup applications. Browtique is located at 2719 East Main.

The Thirsty Turtle has committed to participating in the 2014 Taste of Bexley. This will be their 4th year to participate. Ron Callander, proprietor, is looking forward to participating and defending their win. The Bexley Chamber is a proud participant in Ohio Chautauqua. This is a five-day event offering an exciting mix of education and entertainment with daily interactive workshops for children and adults at locations throughout Bexley.

Musical performances and living history presentations will follow each evening under the signature red and white tent on Capital University’s front lawn, located on Main Street just west of Memorial Gateway.

All events are free and open to the public.

Starting at 6 pm, Bexley Chamber member the Thirsty Turtle Tavern will have Wendi’s mobile kitchens right there on the front lawn at Capital on Tuesday and Wednesday! We will be serving hamburgers, gyros, grilled chicken, and Hebrew National hot dogs, just to name a few!  Come on out and see us!
